How do we make people understand that global warming & the next iceage is a real current danger?
Question by traveler.3339: How do we make people understand that global warming & the next iceage is a real current danger?
Global warming will cause an iceage possably within our lifetimes or the lifetimes of our children. This is a real threat. how do you make people prepare for a problem they refuse to admit exists? Or should we even try? and just let the world go mad max winner takes all.

HELLO we need a leader that understands science and does not put faith that god will take care of global warming… bush is out of touch with science probably fears it…
global warming will be the main reason the earth falters and maybe even perishes…

Global warming and a new ice age is not a danger. The earth’s weather goes in cycles, which we just understand the tip of the iceburg. ( no pun intended, grin)
If you are really worried about an escape from a doomed earth you can read this :

Some people, for reasons of their own, will never get it.
However, more people than ever before are acknowledging the problem and are taking action-not just in the governments of
many countries throughout the world but some businesses in
the U.S.
Let’s not give up. Things will probably get worse before they get better but there’s hope.As for those who deny the
growing evidence, there are always dumbasses in the world.

I think something that is a bigger danger is this whole East versus West thing. It seems inevitable there will probably be another massive war before global warming/next ice age kicks in to the point where it becomes a real problem.

How about providing scientific proof rather than specualtion. According to science the earth is millions of years old in which case how does normal climate change cycle in hundrds or thousands or more yeaars.
Basically, we know less about gloval warming than we know about predicting weather.

the problem with global warming is that it will not affect us individually. It is a fact that pooled responsibility leads to no accountability. This is a human trait and it would be very hard to convince everyone. Leadership has to promote action and leaders should have incentives to do so

nature is responsible for the warming, volcanos and trees do much more harm than man. We flatter ourselves that we are important enough to cause the change, we are insignificant.

We should listen to the people who understood the nature better than all of us. I’m talking about Indians. People should read books and letters written by Indians. I recommend Black Elk speaks, and all books from Charles Eastman Ohijesa. I think by reading life stories of people who lived their lives in harmony with nature and all living beings, we will learn how beautiful nature really is, and that we should guard the natural habitat of man. After all we are all like fishes in aquarium. Whatever we do to the planet, we will end up swimming in it… And in the end, is there something more natural than nature itself?!

It’s easy to point your finger at Bush about Global Warming, especially while driving your car to work. The only way you can effectively get the word out is to promote the E85 Ethanol fuel for cars and trucks. Right now, there is too much money to be made in oil and gas. Has anybody figured out that drilling for oil doesn’t cost anymore than it did 10 years ago? Just the salaries have gone up. The Iran thing is not helping at all. It’s not Bush’s fault, it’s “our” fault. Get the word out about environmentally safe fuel, and maybe, just maybe, our great grandchildren will have a place to grow up.

there have been ice ages before, and people have lived through it, and when those ice ages were here, people had nothing to do with them. so every once in a while, the earth will have these weird phases. nothing to worry about.
